G.L.O.B.E. & Whiz Kid - Play That Beat Mr. D.J.

G.L.O.B.E. & Whiz Kid - Play That Beat Mr. D.J.

Cant find words for this record apart form amazing!

This is the very record that inspired double Dee and Steinski to create their own Payoff Mastermix. That Mastermix went on to be one of the most controversial records of all time as it could not get sample clearance.

  1. When I did the Top 100 for DWG, this is the record I personally placed it at No.1 of my submission for the chart, such a dope record, there's a nice cover version by Gang Starr thats worth looking out for.

One thing that has always bugged me though, is what is the white record on the sleeve?

  2. Hi Rich, Thanks again for your comments, I will check out the Gang Starr version. As for the white record on the sleeve I always believed it to be the white vinyl press of the Jonzun Crew LP Lost In Space.
